How often should I float?​

Although most customers experience benefits their first float treatment, sometimes it can take a few sessions to get the hang of it and really let go.
How should I prepare for my first Float Therapy treatment?​
-lf it is your first visit to Be Spa, you must check-in at least 20-25 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This is to complete paperwork, receive instructions and recommendations, and shower before your treatment. If you are late for check-in, you will NOT be able to participate. All treatments start promptly on a fixed schedule.
-Make sure any new tattoos are fully healed.
-Avoid shaving at least 4 hours prior to your float session.
-Avoid waxing at least 24 hours prior to your float session.
-Avoid tanning prior to your float session and make sure skin is not too sensitive.
-Avoid coloring of your hair within 2 weeks of your float session.
-Avoid any keratin treatments within a few weeks of your float session.
-Cancel your appointment if you are menstruating.
-Remove any makeup, creams, and oils before your float session.
-Avoid caffeine on the day of your appointment.
-Have a snack or small meal a few hours before you float, with at least 30 minutes of digestion time.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
We should have everything you need! Feel free to bring a comb or brush. Most people float in the nude, but you may bring a swimsuit if you prefer.
I'm pregnant. Can I float?
With your physician's approval, the weightlessness of Floating can provide spectacular relief for moms due to the various discomforts of pregnancy. Floating while pregnant is also a very intimate experience with your baby! Many moms can hear their baby's heart beat and feel a deeper connection.
What are some other common contraindications?
Diabetes, kidney disease, heart trouble, epilepsy, seizures, blackouts, allergy to magnesium, bleeding or hemorrhaging, open wounds, motion sickness, incontinence. Always consult your physician.
Can I drown? What happens if I fall asleep?
No. You cannot drown while floating. People often get very relaxed in the pod and occasionally fall asleep.
Is the water clean?
Our multi-disinfection and commercial filtration process performs 10 complete turnovers of the water both before and after each session. This exceeds recommended guidelines for float equipment. We utilize a combination of micron filtration, Ultraviolet Light disinfection, peroxide dosing with oxidation. The heavy concentration of magnesium sulfate also naturally prevents the growth of bacteria and organic contaminants. Our bePods were designed and manufactured with CDC and NSF guidelines for float equipment in mind from the very beginning. Furthermore, all users are required to shower both before and after each treatment making it cleaner than any pool you have ever been in. Don't worry, we are obsessed with water care and take it extremely seriously!
